All Better

The only remaining sign that I was sick for two weeks is the amount of weight I lost.

I'm all better.

Writing progress has been made as well! Not while I was sick, but this morning anyways.

My short story, LIGHT IN THE DARK, is finally moving again. I'll finish it up today for sure. I know I'm in groove as I am procrastinating while mulling over this one sentence.

*crickets chirp*

Figured out that sentence, and the next paragraph. I missed this! I really missed just getting lost in the writing. Feels like it's been forever.

Anything funny ever happen because you were lost in your writing?

  1. I'm so sorry to hear that you've been sick, but glad you're better now. :-)
I don't know if anything funny has happened, but I really love the "lost in the literary fog" feeling that comes when I'm writing. :-)
I saw your face on my followers so thought I'd pop over and say hi! :-)

  2. Okay, I totally hope this doesn't offend you, but I just noticed that the title of your blog is missing the 'i' in writing. I wasn't sure if you did it on purpose so thought I'd let you know. :-)

  3. Didn't do it on purpose, doesn't offend me.

It's funny to me. I never noticed that.

Goes to show you really need a second pair of eyes to go over your stuff.

Thanks for dropping by and noticing Jessica.

Now to decide whether to keep the error for laughs or to fix it.

  4. Hi Meg! Just popping in from Brain Throw Up. Thanks for following me! I'm glad you're feeling better and getting back in the groove of writing. I completely relate with getting lost in the writing. That's the best place to be...when words just flow. It's such a blessing, isn't it? Looking forward to getting to know you better. :)

  6. Meg, I'm glad you're feeling better.

I never noticed the missing i either. And you have a following of writers no less. That's funny. Does that count? :)

  9. Gald you feel better. You lost weight, too. At least something good came of it, or are you one of those people who can't gain weight?

I'm not. I'd love to lose about twenty pounds without getting sick, but I love to eat too much.

  11. Kim, I think I've fallen asleep on mine before too. At least the dozing off while leaning on my elbow.

Morgan, I can gain weight very easily. It's my husband that can eat nothing but ice cream for days and not gain an ounce.

    Thanks everyone for stopping by!

  12. If I write for more than a couple hours straight, I consume about 8,000 calories...mostly in pretzels, but I'll munch on anything.

  13. When I write, I light this Trish McEvoy Wild Blueberry Vanilla Candle. The first time I had one, I didn't realize how expansive they were cuz it was a gift. It got to the bottom and I felt jinxed with no candle, so I went to the store---had to go to Neimans!! AND it was $40 for ONE candle!!! Right!! ...I still bought it tho-and my writing has remained intact. I've either discovered the secret to good writing OR I'm a royal schmuck for spending SO much on a candle...but you should smell them! They smell amazing!

  15. I've been lost in my reading before, but never in my writing. Too many kids to distract me.

  16. I'm glad you're feeling better! Being sick in summer is especially un-fun.

The funniest thing I can think of that happened while I was caught up in my writing is my reading out the dialogue of a big battle scene just as my neighbor dropped by to ask me a question. He looked a little nervous when I opened the door. LOL

  17. I usually watch tv when I write, but turn it real low-it's more like background noise. BUT- A few times, I'll put it on something and then get lost in writing and somebody will walk in the room a couple of hours later and something I would never watch is on tv...like the DVR will switch it over to my sister's kid cartoons or something...once it was on 'Secret Lives of Women-Fetishes' on WE when I looked up once...weird! :)
